Kerala is said to be the land of coconuts. Green fertile land looks and feels like a tropical heaven.Kerala is famous for its beaches, backwaters, hills, lush vegetation and its culture. National Geographic Traveler certified Kerala as one of the 10 paradises of the world.

Kerala was formed in the year 1956 November 1 by combainig various malayalam speaking regions by the States Reorganisation Act.Every year on November 1st malayalees around the world celebrate Kerala piravi Dinam (Kerala’s Birth Day). People celebrate this day by wearing kerala’s traditional dress code men wear dhoti and Kerala sari for the women. Originally Kerala was named after its first ruler Keralian Thamboran. But some say it is formed from “kera” which means coconut tree which is widely seen in Kerala. In India Kerala is the most progressive, literate and highly educated state. The climate of Kerala is very easy going and relaxed atmosphere worth for a journey.

Kerala is one of the most popular tourist destination in India. The Travel and Leisure magazine names kerala as One of the 100 great trips for the 21st century. Kerala was an unknown destinations to other states in the early 1980s. In 1986 Kerala government declared tourism as a industry.  Kerala tourism is now a global brand and regarded as one of the highest recall destinations. Kerala attracted millions of tourist arrivals and is the fastest growing destinations in the world.

Kerala is famous for both foreign tourist and as well as domestic. The famous attractions in Kerala are the beaches at kovalam, Cherai, varkala and kappad; back water tourism  and lake resorts around kumarakom ; hill stations and resorts in munnar, wayanad, ponumdi, vagamon and nelliampathi; wild life santuaries and national parks.

Kerala Ayurveda is very popular in all over the world that draws an increasing number of tourist. Ayurveda is that the oldest extant complete medical system within the world.
